At Our Lady of Lourdes, we are proud to offer a range of Pupil Leadership Teams that encourage our children to take an active role within both our school and the wider community. These groups provide valuable opportunities for pupils to develop confidence, responsibility and leadership skills while working together to make a positive difference.

Guided by our Mission Statement — “We follow in the footsteps of Jesus to love, learn and grow.” — our leadership teams encourage pupils to live out the teachings of Christ through their words and actions. They support children in showing care and compassion for others, embracing opportunities to learn, and leading by example in all aspects of school life. Through their service and commitment, our pupils help to strengthen a school community built on faith, kindness, respect and a shared desire to follow Jesus in all that we do.

Our Pupil Leadership Teams

Our GIFT Team members are made of us children from Years 5 and 6 and they applied for this special role when they were in Year 4.

The GIFT team have a vital role to play in enhancing the Religious Life of our school. They meet weekly to plan the Wednesday Word, liturgical events and ways to develop the faith life of Our Lady of Lourdes.

Members of The GIFT team have a very important job to spread the Word of God throughout our school and the school community. It is their mission to interpret scripture so that children can better understand stories from the Bible and relate them to their own lives. The GIFT team help to lead prayer, prepare prayer areas, deliver collective worship and organise liturgical events.

Our Year GIFT Team members are Lucy, Violet, Sadie, Sophia, Francesca, Poppy, John, Evelyn and Willow.

The GIFT Team were commissioned in a special service led by Father Paul in church.

The Eco Group and Gardening Club help pupils care for God’s creation and develop a sense of responsibility for the environment. Children take part in activities such as litter picking, recycling initiatives, biodiversity projects, energy-saving campaigns, planting and maintaining gardens, growing fruit and vegetables, creating habitats for wildlife, and caring for outdoor spaces. Through practical, hands-on experiences, pupils learn about sustainability, teamwork, healthy living, and stewardship of our common home.

The Wellbeing Club gives children a safe, supportive space to focus on their mental health and emotional wellbeing. Through a range of activities such as mindfulness, yoga, creative arts, storytelling and time in nature, pupils explore the “Five Ways to Wellbeing” and learn practical strategies to help them manage emotions, build resilience, develop positive relationships, and improve communication and self-esteem.

We believe that children at Our Lady of Lourdes can offer unique perspectives on what it is like to be a pupil at our school. We meet every Wednesday. Each member of Pupil Voice invites a different class member to the meeting so that every child at Our Lady of Lourdes gets the chance to have their voice heard.

We want to create a meaningful change and better academic outcomes, as well as giving a sense of empowerment and inclusion.

There are 8 members in your Pupil Voice group. We are Kaydon, Max, Sofia, Beau, Orla, Lola, Tiffany and Leonardo. We are always here for you. You can speak to us in the playground, in the classroom or even join us at one of our meetings. There is also a suggestion box located in all of your classrooms for if you need to talk, have a suggestion, worry or concern.

We are here for YOU!

Together, these groups reflect our commitment to following in the footsteps of Jesus to love, learn and grow, encouraging their peers to live out our Catholic values each day. The Pupil Leadership Teams at Our Lady of Lourdes play an important role in strengthening our school community and making a positive impact beyond the classroom. Through acts of service, kindness and leadership, they demonstrate how faith, compassion and a willingness to help others can make a meaningful difference in the world around them.
